Giraffe Automotive Services is an e-commerce and consultancy services business, created to explore, manage and develop niche opportunities within the automotive sector. Our consultancy expertise is focused on vehicle procurement, rental and leasing and associated services sectors. The e-commerce activities include www.flexxilease.co.uk and a number of related brands, due launch in 2010.
Our current client portfolio consists of two major vehicle manufacturers, three mainstream daily rental operators, two major insurance brokers and a number of new-start and niche vehicle rental operators.
This broad range of projects exposes us to the investor community and increasingly we find introductions and facilitations a growing activity within our operations. The Giraffe team carries huge experience across all the disciplines of the automotive sector including M&A, outsourcing and business reengineering.
Mel is an inspirational and visionary leader with an outstanding record in sales and general business management. Mel´s career has been built in the corporate financial services industry working for such organisations as Standard Chartered, Citi, and a Barclay´s joint venture, where sales, marketing and general management have been the cornerstones of his success. Mel´s career highlights include leading the largest fleet outsource transaction in the UK and the sale of a substantial UK fleet operator to a major European bank.
Adrian was a founding director of one of the largest insurance vehicle hire businesses in the UK and was responsible for the fleet and vehicle procurement in that business for almost 12 years during which time he established and maintained strong relationships with both vehicle manufacturers and providers of asset finance. Prior to co-founding the Group, Adrian spent ten years working in the retail and fleet motor sectors with Vauxhall and Renault.
Bruce qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ICAS) with Touche Ross and has a BA in Accountancy, Business Law and Management Science. Bruce´s early career was spent in the accounting profession with Touche Ross and Coopers & Lybrand working in the UK and Europe. Bruce has worked as Finance Director, CFO and CEO for almost 20 years with fast growth companies in the services, contracting, distribution and technology sectors, during which time he has completed c.20 M&A transactions; raised finance on the USM, AIM and LSE markets; and managed businesses through periods of significant change.
